At NBDT, LCC we believe there is no such thing as a bad dog. There are misunderstood dogs, confused dogs, excited dogs, dogs who may have poor genetics, fearful dogs... but no bad dogs. Dogs are complex creatures that we tend to give misleading labels to. The first thing we will tell you is that dog training isn't as much dog training as it is people training. Forget what you might have seen on TV or heard from your Uncle Jack about training a dog using force or how to become "Alpha" or how to "assert dominance". We are a family oriented business using only force free, science based training to teach new behavior, modify behavior, and most importantly- teach you to understand your dog.
When you train with us, you are FAMILY. Not only is every family or household's needs and wants different, but all dogs are different too! Every dog is an individual; he or she is it's own individual with unique personalities, quirks, and unique way of learning. Unlike other large training companies, your dog isn't just a number with us. They are a part of our family.
I started off in animal rescue here in Northwest Arkansas, and after seeing so many dogs returned due to behavior and how many humans misunderstood their dog's actions, I leaped into the world of training as a way to not only get dogs into homes with the rescue but to KEEP them in the home with training (both dog training and people training.) I am so fascinated about dog behavior and continue my education through national seminars each year. There is so much new information about dogs and behavior- if you are not constantly learning you are simply not keeping up. My passion is seeing dogs happy and seeing their owners happy too. I envision a world where education is our biggest tool in pet keeping.
A little more about me; in my free time I enjoy spending time in my garden, hoarding house plants, hiking, biking, camping, fish keeping, and working on projects with my fiance. I have been in Northwest Arkansas since 2008 after moving from the Quad Cities (Iowa/Illinois). I absolutely love the NWA area. Not only is it a beautiful area, but we have some amazing people and endless opportunities.
